Filling Up To Tabs...How Much Fuel Is In Tank?

Filling Up To Tabs...How Much Fuel Is In Tank?

I have a Piper that holds 77 gallons total fuel capacity.  Of the 77 gallons only 72 are usable.  2 1/2 gallons on each tank are unusable.
Question:  If I only fill each tank up to the tabs, how many gallons do I have?

Thanks in advance

I don't have info on your plane, but the easiest way I think would be to fill up to the tabs, record the gallons, then finish filling up and subtract the tab gallonage from the total and that will give you the amount to subtract from 77.

Also if you can find a 'fuel straw' that is calibrated to your tank they can be very helpful..

I have a Turbo Arrow III with the same tanks.  77 gallons total... 72 gallons usable... 25 gallons at the tabs (each side) so both sides at tabs = 50 gallons.
