1966 Piper Cruiser

1966 Piper Cruiser

I am new to flying and I am looking at a 1966 Piper Cruiser.  Is this the same as a Cherokee?  It has a 150 hp motor and the specs say it will  do 117 knots but the 160 hp Cherokee will do only 107, it this correct.  I do not know much about airplanes. Is thisa good entry level plane. Any things to look out for.  Thank You Joel Hodes

Re: 1966 Piper Cruiser

Good airplane to learn and build time in until your ready for faster more complex airplanes.  Basically, you may want to hire an AP for a day or get a seasoned pilot to go along with you if you intend to buy. 1966 is a cherokee. I own a 1966, it will do 117knots. My son is learning in it. I havent had any major problems, just take better care of it than you would your wife or girlfriend. Good Luck!
