Instrument test in my plane

I am working on instrument rating and have a question about the test and my plane. My plane is ifr certified, but I only have a 2 VORs, one with GS. No adf or dme. So my question, will i be able to take the test in my plane because there aren't a lot of approaches without a dme or adf? I want totrain and test in the plane I will be flying

  • An ADF is of no real value anymore. There are plenty of approaches that do not require DME, but in many cases you may need to establish certain waypoints via intersecting radials. It is OK to use a handheld for situational awareness and distance, so long as it is not your primary navigational aid!
  • I'd count on with & without.
  • I spoke with my DPE buddy, and he said sure to a handheld for awareness and DME. You just simply cannot use it for GPS waypoints, etc. He said you can use it to call inbound fixes... so long as you are not relying on it for the navigational piece.
