Insurance

Hello

The insurance on my N reg 1976 PA20-181 is coming up for renewal.

I am British and live in Barbados where my plane is based.

Looking for insurance but there is a problem - US companies will not quote an airplane outside the US unless I have a US address (no jot an accommodstion address, one I actually live at). The only Caribbean company exclude flight in US airspace.

Last year I got a custom policy written direct with underwriters at Lloyds in London - their insured planes loads of Boeings, Airbusses etc and my Piper!

The policy excludes me from US airspace.

Cannot figure out what's going on, others here have the same issue.

Does anyone know if a company that may quote on it?

Thanks.

  • This is definitely a tough issue, and in the past we have insured aircraft based in the islands although the address was in the US and the owner lived in England

Please contact me and I'll happy to ask a few underwriters if we can help.
