holes in my airbox

on the under side of my airbox I have 2 one inch holes. I would assume they are there incase my air intake gets clogged and would supply air to the carb, but does anyone know for sure?

    That's an interesting question. I assume that the holes are there on purpose. That is, they were manufactured there. Maybe someone has a thought on this. I've never actually seen the underside of my airbox.
