High O-360 CHT's
By reaching out on this Piper forum, I am hoping someone will have some information on an issue I am having with my 1973 Piper Challenger O-360 engine. I have about 900 hours on a remanufactured engine. I also recently installed a JPI EDM 830 engine monitor which is great by the way, but I recently have been experiencing… -
How Fast? Normally Aspirated Piper Arrow.
Hello, I have a normally aspirated piper arrow with IO-360 200hp engine. After a good wash and wax I was registering 147Kts TAS at 4,500ft with a 6knot quartering headwind. My wish list is to find the Lo-Presti howl cowl. Has anyone seen speed numbers like this? I have most of the available speed mods that I am aware of.… -
New Rebuilt Factory Engine Issues
First some history, early last year my original engine had chewed up the lifter and cam. Decided after much back and forth to go with a factory “0” time rebuild. Engine was received in June of 2020, and the installation and first flight occurred in September. The engine was installed with all new hoses and hardware. The… -
1974 Archer 180 N774PC
I bought her back in March to get back into GA flying and to teach my son Instrument flying. It has 8200 hours and I was a little concerned about the proposed wing spar AD but it only has 18 “100 hour” inspections. It was one of the first Archers produced...#17 to be exact. It started life at a place called “The American… -
Cherokee 140 Engine temp question
Hi All, I know this question has probably come up before, but I was wondering if other Cherokee owners were seeing the same results as I am. When climbing out my #1 reaches a temp of around 415-430 while the other cylinders are hovering around 380-390, airspeed is around 85 MPH. Once I transition to cruse, #1 fall between… -

LOP Observations in a Saratoga II TC
All, I own a 2005 Saratoga II TC, and I am not affiliated with Advanced Pilots Seminars, or the manufactures of GAMI injectors (ie., this is an unbiased report...). In hopes of prolonging engine life, extending range and better engine monitoring, I recently installed GAMI injectors, and a JPI EDM-700 (so I could monitor… -
Re: Seneca w/ Merlyn Fuel flow setup help
Mine has run very rough / died when FF went below 2.1 GPH. TCM tech support said the fuel manifold (spider) has a minimum pressure (FF) in order to stay open and that's why I asked. I vaguely recall a couple of cylinders at much lower EGT when starting up at low RPM. I know this isn't moving you towards a solution though… -

Re: Seneca w/ Merlyn Fuel flow setup help
Set up per M-0 with unmetered pressure set at 6.5 at 700RPM using Dwyer digital gauge and RPM rise to 60 on each side (M-0 says 25-50, Piper says 75-100- so we split the difference). We did not have the equipment for a full power run with both metered and upper deck pressure (for the differential metered pressure) which is…
