Emergency Avionics Bus Swithch

I have a 1983 Seneca III, it has an Emergency Avionics Bus Switch on the panel. While it shows it in the POH on the panel it tells you nothing about it. Can anybody tell me what the hell this is for and when to use it. I have asked many people, that include AP's and IA's no one has an answer. What is it for and when.

  • According to my 'Toga's POH the switch is there to give power to the radio buss in the event of a radio master switch failure. Someone, somewhere, must have had a radio master switch fail while IMC.

  • Thanks for that information. One other if I might since you have something in your POH. Does it tell you the procedure for use if the master avionics switch goes bad. In other words if that happens what position should the master switch be in before flipping the emergency switch. Again, thanks in advance.
