Turbo Arrow III Landing Gear Automatic Extension Bypass Lever

When pulling up on the bypass lever to lock the system out of the automatic gear extension mode, it is very difficult to pull. The lever is extremely stiff. I wasn't sure if this is normal.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Todd

  • My Arrow II has the same system I believe, and mine was quite stiff when I acquired my aircraft. After playing with it, it loosened up and now is quite easy to move.

I tried to move it monthly to keep it from rusting or whatever happens. Half the time in the summer, I takeoff with the gear override engaged.

Pull up on it, if it moves keep going. If you think it is too much force get the mechanic to take a look at the system.

1973 Arrow II factory AC removed

    G5’S, G275, GNX375 Still can get lost.

  • If memory serves, the automatic extension system was turned off by either service bulletin or AD many decades ago. Mine is placarded and disabled.

  • Thanks guys,

Mine is not disabled. It still functions. I am able to get it to the locked position just hard to get it there.
