  • Don't know exactly where you are with this but I bought a Cherokee Challenger in October and it had a TruTrak. Because I added an Aspen E-5 advanced the TruTrak had to be updated. Bendix King said I would be better off just doing an exchange for $900 and get the AeroCruze 100 that had all the updates in it, so I did. I also added an Aspen E-5 advanced at the same time. For the money I am impressed. The AeroCruze couples well with my Garmin 430W and the Aspen, the altitude preselect and hold is spot on as is the arming, coupling and flying IFR approaches. The only thing I know is when cruising when the baro changes you have to sync the Trutrak with the altitude each time. This is not an issue for me as when I change the baro on the Aspen it automatically feeds it to the AeroCruze. Hope this helps.

  • I was going Aspen/Trutrak originally in my Challenger but in the end I went with G5's and the GFC500. The cost was only slightly higher and my plane already had the GTN650 when I got it so decided to go Garmin. I'm very happy I did. I don't hear many issues with the trutrak but continually see people with error messages with the Aspen.
