Part Numbers?

Hello,

Seems the original parts manual (1981) has the standard 5 digit part number with two aditional numbers after a -.

xxxxx-xx

It seems if new parts are approved or perhaps re-designed certified replacement parts are made, they get a 6 digit number xxx-xxx.

Is there some sort of cross refrence or guidance on this?

Just curious.

Recently I needed replacement fuel cap for 1981 PA32R, there is a newer design approved part but part number is xxx-xxx, just wonder how to search or look for other such parts.

Thanks

    Hi Kencfii,

That is a great question and if none of our members has an answer for you, I would suggest contacting Piper Service and Support and ask them about any documents or online database for part number cross reference. Here is a contact number: 772.299.2403

  • Often you can search for the P/N you have, and if a new part is available it will pop with the new part.
