Knots2U Group Buy- Get in Here Piper Owners!

edited December 2021 in General Discussion

Several of the members are trying to organize together and obtain special pricing for Piper Owner Society members from Knots2U. https://www.knots2u.net/

If you are interested in purchasing parts at a discount, please visit the website, make your list and post your list. Once this thread has marinated a bit, we will take that list to the owner of K2U and he will determine what levels of discount the group will get. So obviously, a bigger group order means more buying power.

I have been told that not all products can be discounted, and the best pricing will be on fiberglass parts since they are built in-house. So if you have been kicking around speed mods, wing tips or the likes, now would be a good time to get on the train as I have never seen K2U offer discounts or sales in the past.

I'll go first. My list is:

Fiberglass Wing Tips With Landing Lights. Piper PA-32. Set of Two. RD-4000
1 × $2,320.00 Wing Tip Lighting Options, Standard Incandescent Lights
Switch Options
Split Switch On-Off
Voltage
12/14 Volts

Piper Shimmy Dampener Repair Kit $175.95 SKU: ADS-7551

Please add your desired parts order to this thread.

I own and fly a 79 PA32RT-300T. Previous aircraft are a 79 Archer and 76 Arrow.

  • I just need to confirm a couple of things and maybe add a couple. Is the main gear kit at $372 for both or one. Is the screw kit for the chieftain or Navajo. I may add some windows for crew LHS and RHS. I am also trying to confirm NZ CAA requirments for shading. CASA does not alllow grey in the front at all. Also what is the difference between kit 21 and 22 , they both say they are for the main PA31. Re the locks, I have a crew door, no nacelle lockers, can I use the 3 locks for cabin door, crew door, and front baggage. thanks

  • Hi everyone, so who wants to take all of this and put it into a spreadsheet? When we have one, I'll take it to Knots2U.

  • I’m not savvy at all with excel. I don’t really use spreadsheets. To me, a spreadsheet goes under the comforter and throw pillows.

    I own and fly a 79 PA32RT-300T. Previous aircraft are a 79 Archer and 76 Arrow.

  • OK, how about a word document that just lists everything out. :)

  • Thank you so much for doing this. I will take it to K2U/John Bailey with additions for my order. I'm thinking his jaw will hit the floor, lol. This is Christmas week so don't expect an answer till next week.
Thanks so much for putting this together.

OK, I've filled in a couple of blanks and I'm reposting the spreadsheet. We're going to need aircraft model, serial number and registration number along with member name and contact information at this point. Additionally, we're going to need a column for K2U part number and item quantity, which I've started. This should give K2U enough information to get back with a price quote.

  • Everyone in the Knots2U spreadsheet please fill in your missing information.

  • This forum is public facing. Can we move it to another forum on the member side? I really don’t want my info available for anyone to see.

  • Ok, good point. I won't post the spreadsheet anymore. Send me your information and I'll put it in the spreadsheet. Please send the info to scotts@jpmediallc.com

  • Awesome. More buyers, more buying power!

Hopefully John will be extremely happy and we will see a generous pricing structure.

  • Is it too late?

  • I wouldn’t think so. Get that list in Chop Chop!

  • I shall make my list as soon as Santa is allowed to return to Mrs Clause, have to ask permission. Bought 2 horses without asking. They are now the best purchases ever made but Santa was sleeping on the couch for a while.

  • Asking for permission vs. begging for forgiveness has always been a more fruitful approach in my experience. If I asked for permission, I would have never taken my first discovery flight.

As my NCOs once told me, &hit or get off the pot.

  • Scott;

I'm going to throw this out in the middle of this feeding frenzy, but it's time to strike while the iron is hot.

Considering the cumulative buying power of all the members who have already stepped up, do you think K2U would be willing to offer an ongoing discount to members of Piperowner/Cessnaowner vs bulk buys like this?

  • All of the speed mods pay for themselves so no disclosure required. I expect 20+ kts gain in cruise speed per modification. ;)

  • Griff: There is no guarantee that K2U will do anything with the discount. We will have to find out. Eric: 20+kts gain per modification isn't realistic. 6+ kts is probably more realistic.

  • With just Knots2U speed mods? I've had Lopresti and Knots2U speed mods on a Warrior, a Seminole, two Seneca 2's and one Seneca 3. I've never seen more than 6 knots. The Laminar Flow Systems (LFS) mods will add a few more.

  • I heard Rudolph upgraded his nose to the new Whelen 360 beacon and the reports are coming in that little boys and girls could see him much sooner last night. NORAD first though it was a star going supernova over the North Pole until they picked up the ADSB squit at 700 ft agl.
